Global Outreach: Master's Touch Ministries
June 1, 2004By Bibi Jarvis

I saw Dr. Patricia Bailey speak for the first time approximately two months ago on TBN.  I was immediately captivated by her global experience in the mission fields.  You see, Dr. Bailey is not the "typical" picture one envisions when you think of missionaries.  I sat and watched her share her experiences as a Spiritual and Cultural Ambassador to many nations.  Her testimony about living as an example of Christ's light to a hurting world drew me in.  I had to lean more about Master's Touch Ministries International.

Dr. Bailey has focused her efforts of spreading the liberating good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
toward the people living in the 10/40 window which include North Africa and the Middle East, an area that
is the most populated, but least evangelized, in the world.  The ministry of Dr. Patricia D. Bailey has
created tremendous impact in over 80 countries around the world bringing deliverance and salvation to
countless thousands.  Having traveled as a Youth Ambassador to Israel in 1988, I am keenly aware of the atmosphere in the Middle East and how few African American women have experienced such travels.  Dr. Bailey is in a unique situation when it comes to ministry abroad.  Generally speaking, when you are in countries that typically have a low number of "acknowledged"  Africans in the Diaspora, citizens are interested in learning more about you.  Dr. Bailey spoke about how she has been able to share the Gospel with people who saw her humanity first, as she saw theirs.  It is critical that Christians connect with members of other cultures as fellow human beings, without being condescending or hypocritical, as in, I'll share bread with you , if you listen to my stories about Christ.  In her interview with Bishop Eddie Long, Dr. Bailey stressed the fact that so many missionaries have left a sour taste in the mouths of Muslims in the Middle East for that very reason.

Dr. Bailey's presentation of the Gospel has crossed cultural, racial, and socioeconomic status. She has met with several Heads of States, Diplomats, and other important government dignitaries. She ministers the Word of God in mission schools, Bible schools, evangelistic and healing crusades, and conferences. She has served over 15 years in Europe including France, London, Germany, and Brussels and over 15 years in the Caribbean on long and short term mission trips. Her Middle Eastern outreaches consist of countries located in the Arabian Gulf Peninsula. Her leadership training in these areas reaches as far east as Lebanon and Jordan.

Her powerful ministry has spearheaded tremendous outreach activities that allow the average woman to become involved with short-term missions.  Sister To Sister trains inner city women of America to work side by side in Africa in order to reach the people.  Sister to Sister sponsors short term mission trips to provide educational, health and spiritual support to fellow women and children in less fortunate situations abroad.  To learn more about Dr. Bailey and Master's Touch International, please visit her on the web.  Click here for more information.

Have you ever said to yourself, “I wish I could change……….…” or “If I only had larger or smaller…………..…….”? Having a negative body image affects all of us at one time or another. Unfortunately, because of low self-esteem or personal experiences, it haunts some more than others. But, even if you've learned to love your body and have come out of the “I wish” phase, mostly all women can sympathize with our girlfriends, daughters, sisters and mothers that still have to learn how to embrace, accept and love themselves. This article is for all my girlfriends who have felt the disappointment of trying on that pair of jeans that used to fit last year.

Inescapable media images of sexed-up girls and women posing as adolescents can cause psychological and even physical harm to adolescents and young women, a study in the US has warned.
