Mocha's Thanksgiving Ode November 20, 2004 • By Pam Osbey Mocha's Thanksgiving Ode
Thanking God for good family and friends. Having a blessed life and sharing it. Always trying to be positive. Not being negative but helping those in need. Kindness being my middle name. Saving pennies for a rainy day and shopping for food to help those who are hungry. Giving all that I have to do what God would have me to do. I try to call my friends who I haven't spoke with in a while. Very smiling and open person to all that I see. I am traveling to Topeka, Kansas to see Sheree and her family. Nurturing the body and spirit in ways that cannot be explained. Going the extra mile to put a smile on some body's face.
© 2004 by Mocha Sistah Have you ever said to yourself, “I wish I could change……….…” or “If I only had larger or smaller…………..…….”? Having a negative body image affects all of us at one time or another. Unfortunately, because of low self-esteem or personal experiences, it haunts some more than others. But, even if you've learned to love your body and have come out of the “I wish” phase, mostly all women can sympathize with our girlfriends, daughters, sisters and mothers that still have to learn how to embrace, accept and love themselves. This article is for all my girlfriends who have felt the disappointment of trying on that pair of jeans that used to fit last year.

Inescapable media images of sexed-up girls and women posing as adolescents can cause psychological and even physical harm to adolescents and young women, a study in the US has warned. Back To Archives
