My Ministry
November 20, 2004By Julia Hickman

My Ministry

Julia Hickman

Father, I prayed in my weakness

Forgetting for a moment He was all wise

May I stay ever near You

When I enter Paradise?

My Child, the Father answered

And His voice was low and sad

Why wait so long to be near me

When My presence may ever be had?

By those who truly love Me

Who strive to do My will

Who lose themselves in service

And listen to the Voice low and still

Then Father, I prayed earnestly

What would you have me do?

Gladly will I lose myself

In service for others and for You

And as I listened quietly

I felt I heard Him say

If you would be My minister

Go! Be My servant today

Seek not the high and mighty

But go and help the weak

Teach those who have no teacher

Who know not what they seek

To truly be a minister

One must first a servant be

Must always be in service

For others and for Me!

Have you ever said to yourself, “I wish I could change……….…” or “If I only had larger or smaller…………..…….”? Having a negative body image affects all of us at one time or another. Unfortunately, because of low self-esteem or personal experiences, it haunts some more than others. But, even if you've learned to love your body and have come out of the “I wish” phase, mostly all women can sympathize with our girlfriends, daughters, sisters and mothers that still have to learn how to embrace, accept and love themselves. This article is for all my girlfriends who have felt the disappointment of trying on that pair of jeans that used to fit last year.

Inescapable media images of sexed-up girls and women posing as adolescents can cause psychological and even physical harm to adolescents and young women, a study in the US has warned.
