lower than low
u don't even have the sweet nerve to glow
cause you think u know
that inside ur soul
u are not pretty
or beautiful so u allow
others to abuse, use and treat u so..
unkindlybut don't mind me
I’m just commenting about the things
that concern me as a woman...on this journey
lower than low
u try to stuff ur self
into tiny little boxes that don't glow
no shining
just u fighting
to fit in2 what he says u should be
don't u know u gots to set ur own soul
free
so u continue to let him tell u lies
even though u know inside
the truth
u, my precious sister, continue
to blind ur soul
ur self
ur divine essence to B
Open ur eyes and turn
back the funky hands of time
and learn to B!
B liberated
B shiny
B loving
B that great mother
B that wonderful sistah
B that eloquent speaker
B that church choir singah
B who you be
cause u ain't lower case
u should B higher than high don’t let that individual take away ur shine
don't u know u are divine?
and that ur beauty is deliciously deep and oh so fine
don't u know God has made u help mate
not a woman who's supposed to be stepped upon
or frowned upon
but shined upon
like a light that will never go out..
not without a fight!
lower than low
u should never go
if u pull out that negativity
u will redefine your own soul
and so
don't let him tell u
u ain't nothingu ain't the one who should be
treated with respect
u ain't the one who's supposed to be
the most beautiful person n the world
and he
should be ur king
not ur challenger...ur bad boxer
and boxing u in with his insecurities
U will know
U r not lowercase
when u let all the melancholy feelings go
reclaim ur soul
for all in the world to see
u will just B
U are the highest of high
sister gurl, learn to redefine who
U are
and who U be
and love what God's given to thee
B that divine sistah
that demands respect, and love, and peace
in her life with no strife
